Pressed plywood

Per a request, above are some more detail images of what my glass and grout is mounted on.  After I decide what size of 'canvas' to work on, I cut sheets of plywood to the exact size.  I then drill and compress all of the sheets together, all of the pressed sheets form the 1.75" thickness.  The edges and back are power sanded and smoothed, then sealed with polyurethane.  The wood is then ready for me to start glueing all the glass shapes on.  The larger work is typically hung but a few people that have purchased some of my smaller work have actually displayed it free standing on shelves or tables, etc.  In the later instance the work takes on more of a sculptural feeling.
